Cita:Paris, February 12, 2015 ÔÇô Today, Ubisoft released its sales figures for the fiscal quarter ended December 31, 2014.

Sales

Sales for the third quarter of 2014-15 came to €809.7 million, up 55.8% (or 49.5% at
constant exchange rates) compared with the €519.7 million recorded for third-quarter 2013-14.

For the first nine months of fiscal 2014-15, sales totaled €1,293.9 million versus €813.0 millionin the corresponding prior-year period, representing an increase of 59.2% (or 58.3% at constant exchange rates).

The third-quarter sales figure was higher than the target of approximately €730 million
announced when Ubisoft released its first-half 2014-15 results. This performance reflects:

-A sharp increase in market share to 12.8% for 2014 (from 9.6% in 2013).

- A very good performance delivered by the two AssassinÔÇÖs Creed┬« opuses, Far Cry┬« 4
and The Crew®, with respective sales of 10 million, 7 million and 2 million units (sellin):

- Far Cry 4 was voted ÔÇ£Best ShooterÔÇØ at "The Games Awards 2014".

- AssassinÔÇÖs Creed Unity won the prize for best ÔÇ£Character Animation in a Video
GameÔÇØ at the Annie Awards.

- To date, The Crew has recorded the best sales for the racing games released in
late 2014.

- A solid showing from Just Dance® with 4 million units sold (sell-in).

- The continued success of Watch Dogs®, with 10 million units sold (sell-in) since its
release. Watch Dogs is the biggest launch ever of a new IP in the EMEA region and the
second largest launch in the United States.

- A 157.0% surge in digital segment revenues to €138.0 million in the third quarter. For
the first nine months of 2014-15, revenues generated by the digital segment came to
€274.1 million, up 120.3% year on year, and representing 21.2% of UbisoftÔÇÖs total
sales compared with 15.3% in the same period of 2013-14.

- A robust 25.9% increase in back-catalog sales to €67.1 million in the third quarter. For
the first nine months of the fiscal year, back-catalog sales rose 6.1% to €181.9 million.

Outlook

Sales for the fourth quarter of 2014-15

Ubisoft expects fourth-quarter 2014-15 sales to amount to approximately €146.0 million, down by approximately 25% compared with the fourth quarter of 2013-14, which saw the release of South ParkTM The Stick of TruthTM.

Full-year 2014-15

Ubisoft has raised its sales and non-IFRS operating income targets for full-year 2014-15. The sales target is now approximately €1,440 million (versus the previous target of at least €1,400 million) and the new non-IFRS operating income target is approximately €165 million (compared with the previous target of at least €150 million). In addition, the Group expects Free Cash Flow generation to reach more than €150 million.
Full-year 2015-16 Ubisoft is standing by its target for non-IFRS operating income to reach at least €200 million.

In the Digital Contents business, sales of the special feature title ÔÇ£Monster Hunter 4 UltimateÔÇØ (for New Nintendo 3DS
and Nintendo 3DS) were largely in line with the plan and sales of ÔÇ£Ultra Street Fighter IVÔÇØ (for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360,
and PC) targeting overseas markets were also solid, reflecting its strong popularity. In addition to the satisfactory sales of
ÔÇ£Dead Rising 3ÔÇØ (for Xbox One and PC), which was a million seller in the previous fiscal year, an online game ÔÇ£Monster
Hunter Mezeporuta KaitakukiÔÇØ made a robust start. Furthermore, a steady increase in the sales volume of digital
download sales contributed to profits due to their high profitability.

On the other hand, sales of a major title ÔÇ£Gaist Crusher GodÔÇØ (for Nintendo 3DS) were below expectations. Moreover,
there was a lack of major titles among CapcomÔÇÖs mobile phone contents with certain exceptions including ÔÇ£Monster
Hunter Freedom Unite for iOSÔÇØ, although the overhaul of the profit structure contributed to profitability improvement.


The resulting net sales were 32,408 million yen (down 42.2% from the same term last year) because overall sales did not
offset the aforementioned downturn in ÔÇ£Monster Hunter 4ÔÇØ (for Nintendo 3DS), however, operating income was 8,469
million yen (up 22.4% from the same term last year).

In addition, the Company increased its financial outlook for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2015, and provided its initial financial outlook for the fiscal fourth quarter ending March 31, 2015.

ÔÇ£Take-TwoÔÇÖs positive momentum was demonstrated once again, as we delivered exceedingly strong third quarter revenues and profits, and finished the quarter with nearly $1 billion in cash and short term investmentsÔÇØ

GAAP Financial Results

For fiscal third quarter 2015, GAAP net revenue was $531.1 million, as compared to $1.86 billion for fiscal third quarter 2014. GAAP net income was $40.1 million, or $0.42 per diluted share, as compared to $578.4 million, or $4.69 per diluted share, for the year-ago period. GAAP net revenue and net income declined year-over-year in fiscal third quarter 2015 because GAAP results for fiscal third quarter 2014 included net revenue and cost of goods sold related to sell-in of the Grand Theft Auto V® game during both fiscal second quarter and fiscal third quarter 2014, as Grand Theft Auto Online launched during fiscal third quarter 2014. In addition, GAAP results for fiscal third quarter 2015 reflect the deferral of net revenue and cost of goods sold related to sell-in of Grand Theft Auto V during the quarter.

During fiscal third quarter 2015, the CompanyÔÇÖs cash and short-term investments balance increased to $976.6 million as of December 31, 2014.

Non-GAAP Financial Results

For fiscal third quarter 2015, Non-GAAP net revenue grew to $954.0 million, as compared to $767.7 million for the year-ago period. Non-GAAP net income increased to $211.6 million, or $1.87 per diluted share, as compared to $210.7 million, or $1.70 per diluted share, for the year-ago period.

The largest contributors to Non-GAAP net revenue in fiscal third quarter 2015 were Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online, NBA┬« 2K15, WWE┬« 2K15, Borderlands┬«: The Pre-Sequel, and Sid MeierÔÇÖs Civilization┬«: Beyond EarthÔäó.

Non-GAAP net revenue from digitally-delivered content grew 64% year-over-year to $217.2 million. The largest contributors were offerings for the Grand Theft Auto series, NBA 2K15, the Borderlands franchise, and Sid MeierÔÇÖs Civilization: Beyond Earth. Revenue from recurrent consumer spending (virtual currency, downloadable add-on content and online games) grew 23% year-over-year and accounted for 36% of Non-GAAP net revenue from digitally-delivered content. Catalog sales accounted for $103.7 million of Non-GAAP net revenue led by the Grand Theft Auto series and offerings for Borderlands 2.

Sony perderá 4 veces más de lo que había previsto inicialmente. Sony lo achaca a los smartphones.

Cita:PlayStation maker Sony has quadrupled the amount of money it expects to lose this financial year in a profit warning it blamed on smartphones.

Sony described it as "the impairment of goodwill in the mobile communications segment", which means it had another look at its Xperia smartphones business and found it in even worse shape than it thought it was in.

The impairment amounts to 180 billion yen - or a whopping £1.04 billion - and this is how it affects Sony's bottom line: in July the company said it expected to make a loss of 50 billion yen for the financial year. Now, it reckons it'll make a loss of 230 billion yen - or £1.3 billion. It now expects an operating loss of 40 billion yen instead of the 140 billion yen profit it forecast in July.

While the PlayStation business - fuelled by the success of PlayStation 4 - continues to perform well, the wider Sony Corporation is struggling. This is the sixth downward revision under boss Kaz Hirai, who took the top job on in 2012 promising to return the company to profit.

Después de desvelar los resultados del último trimestre, los inversores se han quedado patidifusos. Tanto, que las acciones han caido un 20% justo después.

El primer declive en ventas que ha tenido la compañia. 30 millones. Quizá poco, pero muestra que la gente ya no está dispuesta a pagar o se han ido a otros juegos. No obstante tampoco "cantemos victoria", en el global del año es posible que sigan en lo más alto.

Cita:King announced its quarterly results today, and in the process spooked the hell out of investors. In after-hours trading, its stock fell in value by over 20 percent.

That's most likely the reaction to the downturn in King's bookings, or in-game sales. Gross bookings were $611 million for the second quarter of 2014. While they were up 27 percent year-on-year, they were down 5 percent ($30 million) as compared to the first quarter of 2014.

Candy Crush Saga was the big loser here, the company said; newer games Farm Heroes Saga and Bubble Witch 2 Saga couldn't fully offset the downturn in its bookings.

The company warned investors it was over-reliant on the title as it prepared to offer stock, and its IPO faltered amidst these fears. Zynga stock nosedived as its fortunes waned, which set the stage for investor reactions to King.

The company turned a hefty profit for the quarter: $188.3 million on a non-GAAP basis, up from $148.1 million for the same period a year ago. That wasn't enough to assuage investor fears, however, because revenues also missed analyst estimates: $593.5 million versus expectations of $606 million, Business Insider reports. The company also said that gross bookings would continue to decline in the next quarter before bouncing back at the end of the year.

King also announced that it would be paying a special dividend to shareholders of $150 million to its shareholders -- principally (80 percent) to its execs and founders, to keep them locked into the company until it announces its 2014 results (likely early next year.)

It also announced the acquisition of Singapore-based Nonstop Games, a studio co-founded by former Wooga head of studio Henric Suuronen which is currently focused on creating mid-core mobile games. King said Nonstop's titles would launch in 2015. King paid $6 million for the studio, as well as a payout of $10 million to retain talent, with a possible $84 million earnout depending on how its games perform and how much talent stays with the studio post-acquisition.

Cita:Take-Two has released its first quarter earnings for fiscal year 2015. Despite a largely empty schedule, the company exceeded expectations amidst a revenue slide from last year at the same time.

Net revenue dropped from $142.7 million to $125.4 million. The big news is that Evolve has been delayed until February 10, 2015. It still sits in Take-TwoÔÇÖs current fiscal year and should have a minimal impact on results.

Despite the slide, Take-Two outperformed its expectations. The company credits NBA 2K14 and Grand Theft Auto V as strong performers, filling in a quarter without any major releases.

Take-Two still has its biggest titles ahead, with Grand Theft Auto V coming to PC and new-gen consoles, and, Borderlands The Pre-Sequel, WWE 2K15, and Civilization Beyond Earth all arriving in October.

There is no specific date yet for Grand Theft Auto VÔÇÖs release.

Microsoft siempre ha remontado en el periodo navideño. Con 360 solía pasar así, veremos este año aunque mientras tengan buen ritmo de ventas no veo problema. Que sony vende más, pues perfecto. así se ponen más las pilas los de Micro en ofertas, promos y demás.

Lo que saco yo en claro de estos números.

1. Las ventas de Mario Kart 8 han sido muy buenas, pero no lo suficientes. Algo aparantemente obvio.
2. No es que las ventas de 3DS estén cayendo, es que se están desplomando totalmente. Y viendo el panorama de juegos que hay de aquí a 2015, nada hace suponer que vayan a cambiar los números.
3. 2DS no ha hecho efecto por ningún lado. Una de las revisiones más catástrofes que recuerdo. O sacan otra revisión (3DSi), o preparan ya la portátil next-gen. Pero tienen que hacer algo ya, porque no les cuadran ni les cuadrarán los números.
4. Los Amiibos son la apuesta total y absoluta para ganar dinero. Veremos como les va.

Aunque las ventas de 3DS y One no estén muy alejadas, está claro que a menos que Nintendo deje de dar apoyo a Wii U y se centre en 3DS, está sigue teniendo clara su fecha de caducidad.

Me da bastante rabia lo de 3DS porque si Nintendo no se empeñase en intentar hacer un milagro con Wii U, la consola podría tener aún vida por delante.

-Sólo tres juegos first de aquí a 2015 para Wii U.
-Europa no tendrá NES REMIX PACK.
-Devil's Third y SMTxFE no tienen fecha.
-3DS sólo tiene 3 lanzamientos first de aquí a finales de año.

El desplome de 3DS es enorme. Parece que los que venimos repitiendo hace ya tiempo que se le acaba el fuelle a la consola, nos acercamos bastante a la realidad.

No se qué tienen pensado hacer, pero dudo que dejen de dar apoyo a WiiU, Led. Creo que es una cuestión de imagen y que tienen que hacer que su consola de sobremesa termine en unos números dignos.


WiiU venda mal, muy mal, pero al menos crece mucho con respecto al trimestre del año anterior (más del triple) y eso dentro de lo catastrófico de su situación, es algo bastante positivo.
Si no se atascan en el desarrollo, tenemos 12 títulos first party en 2015 para Wii U. Con otros 2 juegos a la espera: Devils third y SMTxFE.

El mejor año que tendrá Wii U y el último.

Por otro lado, 3DS tendrá 2 first party en todo 2015 (que se sepa), que son: STEAM y Fossil Fighters.

Sería el peor año que tiene 3DS y el último.

Es lo que tiene no tener recursos infinitos, que de algún lado tienes que rascar para mantener a flote el barco.
No entiendo nada, con la cantidad de estudios que tiene Nintendo, ¿se puede saber a qué se dedican? 3DS con poco apoyo y solo 3 lanzamientos para WiiU de aquí a 2015. ¿Qué pasa? ¿Estaban todos ayudando a desarrollar los Amiibo?

Según lo que tengan pensado sacar a continuación es lo que alargue o acorte la vida de 3DS:

- Si es una consola híbrida, tendrán que aguantar para finiquitar las 2 a las vez.

- Si son 2 consolas que compartan estructura y SO, pueden sacar la sucesora de 3DS antes.

No habían anunciado tampoco y aparece en la lista el DISNEY MAGICAL WORLD, el 24/10/14 para 3DS, parece que lo va a distribuir Nintendo por lo que he visto por ahí.
2016 nueva portatil y sobremesa fijo, posible anuncio en el E3 de 2015? Yo creo que aun no tienen ni idea de como enfocar la sucesora de una y otra...
