Con la llegada de Titanfall al mercado parece que Microsoft quiera relanzar Xbox One. En el marco actualización que recibirá la consola antes de que aterrice el título de Respawn hoy hay que sumarle otra novedad, la completa integración de la aplicación de Twitch.

Con esta actualización disponible a partir del 11 de marzo, la aplicación de Twitch para Xbox One podrá: Realizar streamings en directo, ver streamings de cualquier otra plataforma (como PS4 o PC), incluye comandos de voz para crear las emisiones, funciones de chat, seguir canales, unirse al juego del que están siendo espectadores (siempre que lo tengan) y posibilidad de archivar clips de juego para posteriormente verlos en cualquier dispositivo.

ÔÇ£La integración es completaÔÇØ, dijo Emmett Shear, consejero delegado de Twitch. ÔÇ£Estamos entusiasmados porque nunca antes habíamos tenido la capacidad para realizar streaming desde una consola con este nivel de integración. El concepto de ser capaz de unirte a la partida del broadcaster es realmente genial, y es un paso más en la dirección para una interacción más estrecha con el que emite contenido".

La posibilidad de emitir partidas en directo mediante Twitch es una función que los usuarios de PS4 pueden realizar desde que la consola llegó al mercado. Según explica Shear la aplicación para PS4 fue desarrollada por Sony y no por Twitch, solo faculta a los usuarios de PS4 ser espectadores de otras retransmisiones de PS4 y no les permite conectarse fácilmente.

ÔÇ£Es un tipo de experienciaÔÇØ, dijo Yusuf Mehdi, director de marketing de Xbox One, sobre la versión de Twitch para PS4. ÔÇ£Nosotros pensamos que era demasiado restrictiva para lo que nuestros seguidores quieren. Nuestros fans realmente quieren un servicio completo de próxima generación, así que decidimos tomarnos nuestro tiempo y hacerlo bienÔÇØ.

Titanfall estará disponible el 13 de marzo en Europa, dos días después de la actualización de Twitch para Xbox One. El juego se ofrecerá de forma independiente o en un pack junto a la consola por 499 euros. Además también estará disponible el mismo día una versión para PC y dos semanas después una para Xbox 360.

Sony and Twitch have offered integrated Twitch streaming since PS4 launched, but it doesnÔÇÖt allow you to enter the broadcasterÔÇÖs party. Commenting on the feature, Xbox vice president of marketing and strategy Yusuf Mehdi said, ÔÇ£ThatÔÇÖs a very certain type of experience.

ÔÇ£For us, we thought that was too limiting for what our fans would want. Our fans really want the full next-gen service, so thatÔÇÖs why we decided to take our time, do it right and have it come out in this fashion.ÔÇØ

ÔÇ£This will open up the social aspect of Xbox One in a new way,ÔÇØ he concluded. ÔÇ£The community of Twitch is huge, and this allows us to type into that, and frankly do something thatÔÇÖs never been done before on consoles. YouÔÇÖll be able to broadcast to any device and consume anyoneÔÇÖs broadcast from any device. ItÔÇÖs a console experience unique to the Xbox One.ÔÇØ

"It's complete integration," Shear says. "It's exciting because we've never had the ability to broadcast from a console like this with such a deep level of integration. The concept of being able to join a broadcasters' party is really cool, and it's another step in the direction of interacting more closely with broadcasters."

Notably, Twitch live streaming has been part of the PlayStation 4 since the Sony console's launch. However, the PS4's Twitch app was created by Sony with Twitch's help, and doesn't allow users to connect to other broadcasters' parties.
