De acuerdo con Nintendo, ningún juego lanzado en 2012 ha logrado las cifras de ventas alcanzadas por New Super Mario Bros. 2, la nueva aventura de desarrollo lateral de Mario, en España en su primer fin de semana a la venta.

Los datos que ofrece Nintendo han sido proporcionados por la consultora independiente GfK, quien afirma que Mario ha conseguido vender más de 17.700 unidades en el fin de semana del 17 al 19 de agosto.

Los videojuegos con marca Mario han vendido más de 270 millones de unidades en todo el mundo, y ya el primer juego de la serie, New Super Mario Bros., logró vender más de 720.000 unidades en España desde su lanzamiento en 2006 para Nintendo DS.

El Sleeping Dogs se está comportando como un buen sleeper, aumentando su presencia en listas de ventas en su segunda semana. Que adelante en algunos mercados a un Mario en 2D (con las piernas estratosféricas e inhumanas que tiene Mario) es muy significativo.

El boca a boca está funcionando muy bien para este juego en el que poca gente daba un duro por él hace pocos meses.
