What all of this means is of course open to debate. Does Iwata intend for the NX to exist on the market alongside 3DS and Wii U? Some have predicted that the new machine will serve both as a home console and handheld ÔÇô which by definition would see it replace both existing machines.

Or does Iwata instead mean that the NXÔÇÖs ÔÇ£brand new conceptÔÇØ is so different to the existing hardware that it will not compete in the same space?

And what of the comment ÔÇ£When it comes to how dedicated game systems are being played, the situations have become rather different, especially between Japan and overseasÔÇØ? This presumably references the growing mobile sector ÔÇô which in Japan has had a far bigger impact on the struggling console market. Does this mean NintendoÔÇÖs new machine will be more mobile than console focused.

Habrá que ver qué es NX, pero no me creo que si de por si ya les cuesta mantener dos plataformas, se estén planteando mantener tres.

Si tuviese que interpretarlo, también lo haría así.

Vamos, que va a sustituir a las consolas actuales pero no de una forma usual.

Pone que no será un simple reemplazo, es decir, que será un reemplazo y algo más, no que no va a ser un reemplazo en plan de que no va a ser sucesora de ninguna de las consolas actuales

Ahí no hablan de que no vaya a ser un reemplazo. Dicen que no va a ser un simple reemplazo. Es decir, que la nueva consola no va a ser una continuación como tal, si no que seguramente sea un nuevo concepto, pero obviamente será la nueva consola, dejando al margen a la que substituya, que de momento no sabemos cual es, aunque por las palabras, seguramente aúnen portátil y sobremesa en una sola.

El título da a entender que las 3 consolas convivirán ,cuando no han dicho eso. Hasta el título en inglés está mal.

El título no da a entender que las tres consolas van a convivir equitativamente, simplemente pone que NX no será el reemplazo de 3DS y Wii U, y es precisamente lo que da a entender Iwata.

Si WiiU y 3DS no son reemplazadas, yo entiendo que conviven las 3, que es lo que muchos han entendido en Meri por ejemplo. El título da lugar a engaño.

Como tampoco lo iba a ser 3DS de Gameboy, sino "un tercer pilar"
