Nintendo busca personal para un nuevo proyecto de Zelda

While not entirely newsworthy, Nintendo has added new job listings on its website pertaining to the Zelda series. The company is currently seeking a 3DCG designer as well as a level designer.

Here’s a bit of additional information about each position:

-The first job posting is for a 3DCG designer. They specify that it is for terrain/topography production for stuff such as the field and dungeons.
-Requirements: experience making backgrounds in Maya and Adobe Photoshop; experience working on HD hardware; Japanese fluency
-Other skills that will help your application: experience making backgrounds specifically for an action game; experience making concept art; experience making assets in Substance Painter and Substance Designer; interest in Zelda; leadership experience

-The second posting is for a level designer. They are looking for someone to plan game events, the field, dungeons, as well as enemies.
-Requirements: experience working as a game planner for consumer games; Japanese fluency.

It was only a matter of time until we started seeing these kinds of job postings – it’s not entirely surprising to see them given that the Zelda series will continue. Still, it’s nice to see Nintendo moving forward with whatever it has planned.

Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland coming west for PS4, Switch, and PC in spring 2019, first details and screenshots

Alchemy RPG sequel due out in 2019 in Japan.
Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland will be released for PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC via Steam in North America and Europe in spring 2019, the company announced.
In Japan, Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland was previously announced for release on PlayStation 4 and Switch in 2019.
The game’s official website (North America, Europe, Japan) and a Japanese press release have provided the first official information and screenshots.

Atelier Rorona: The Alchemist of Arland marked the beginning of the Arland series. And now, following the events of Atelier Totori: The Adventurer of Arland and Atelier Meruru: The Apprentice of Arland, comes an all new story. Synthesis, exploration, and battle…
The system that defines the Atelier series. While maintaining a system that fans of the Arland series will be familiar with at its core, this title also continues to evolve the system.
In addition, the title extracts the essence of the system, which has continued to be cultivated, all the way up from the series’ roots to its latest numbered title. A unique melding of such elements makes possible an entirely new gaming experience.

Exploration and synthesis have also been upgraded. Places and items familiar to Arland series players will appear in great numbers. The game uses an Atelier Totori-like discovery system. As for other Arland series systems, there are several being used as a base and deepened.

Original 11/06/18 at 4:37 a.m.: Piana from Atelier Totori: The Adventurer of Arland will appear as an adult in Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland, the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu reveals.
When Piana first appeared in Atelier Totori, she was a young girl who met Totori upon her arrival at Frontier Village.
Weekly Famitsu has an interview with Atelier Lulua character designer Mel Kishida and producer Junzo Hosoi, who discuss the reason for returning to the Arland series, design focuses, and other topics.



Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland is due out for PlayStation 4 and Switch in Japan in 2019, and for PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC in North America and Europe in spring 2019.

• Piana has grown into an adult and become Lulua’s teacher.
  
• Kristoff Orel Arland is the name of a certain person’s son. He is training to surpass a certain man. He is cool, but also helps out others in need.
  
• Hosoi: “Discussions about making a fourth Arland game came up around last December’s [Atelier series] festival.”
  
• Ishida: “As for Rorona’s age… she was already 33 in Atelier Meruru, so you don’t have to worry about it.”
  
• “Atelier Lulua returns to feeling like the Victorian era from the [previous game’s] medieval-style presentation.”
  
• Ishida: “When designing Orel, I was thinking about a certain person’s hair color, but not very strongly.”
  
• Hosoi: “We’re also focusing on characters’ facial expressions.”
  
• Hosoi: “I think that the characters from previous games that everyone is expecting are going to appear.”
  
• Ishida: “If Rorona is in it then that other someone probably is, too…”
