Habrá mas Alan Wake tras American's Nightmare y la conversión del Original a PC.
Myllyrinne told Joystiq at DICE it still had a plan in place for the series as custodians of the IP. ÔÇ£WeÔÇÖre crowd pleasers, weÔÇÖll do what the audience wants, ÔÇÖcause usually thatÔÇÖs the good business move as well,ÔÇØ he said. He also suggested digital could continue to play a part in the seriesÔÇÖs future with the release of American Nightmare. ÔÇ£IÔÇÖm loving the digital [distribution] side and weÔÇÖll see how that evolves, but just being able to give people quick access to bite-size chunks of gaming is maybe more fun than working for years and years ÔÇö taking the phone offline and closing the shuttersÔÇô at least, this way, youÔÇÖre able to react much more quickly to peopleÔÇÖs desires and wishes.ÔÇØ Myllyrinne said heÔÇÖs hopeful the studio will have ÔÇ£one or two surprisesÔÇØ around the series, but that would obviously need to depend on how well American Nightmare and the PC version of Wake 1 does. HeÔÇÖs not worried, though. ÔÇ£I donÔÇÖt know. I donÔÇÖt know if that would dictate it. If it bombs [laughs], then thatÔÇÖs certainly a signal, but weÔÇÖre fairly confident that itÔÇÖll do well. WeÔÇÖll certainly continue with Wake. Right now weÔÇÖre focusing on getting the PC out next week, then getting American Nightmare out. ÔÇ£And itÔÇÖs too early to talk about what our next move is, but weÔÇÖve obviously put things into motion.ÔÇØ Alan Wake PC launches next Thursday for digital distributors with a retail release on March 2. American Nightmare launches on February 22.

Our ESRB rating is still the same ("T"), but the PEGI rating is higher (18+ -- Alan Wake was 16+). But I don't think we're much more gory -- there's some blood, sure, but not significantly more than in the original Alan Wake, which also had some fairly bloody sequences (the first one to spring to mind is that whole thing with Rusty). However, PEGI tends to be more sensitive to violence overall, and I think some of that Mr. Scratch is probably what pushed it over to 18+ -- you've seen the strangulation bit in the trailers and everything. It's not super graphic violence, this is not a Saw film or something -- but Mr. Scratch does do and say some nasty stuff. ESRB is an American ratings standard and PEGI is European, and you can see some of the differences there across the board -- for the original game, our ESRB rating was T, which is essentially "13+", but for Europe, that was 16+. This is a pretty good reflection of that difference between the ratings systems, I think. |
