De NeoGAF...
Ok, so my impressions from playing the PS4 version for 15minutes.
You had a choice of two sections: The starting area with a bit more focus on story, or the desert area with the end goal of killing a big scorpion.
I picked the desert section as I wanted as little of the story spoiled for me as possible. The desert was big, but not too big. Nice draw distance and didn't notice any pop-in or framedrops during my play time. The characters movement felt great as the main character has a little bit of weight to his walk. Animations looked nice and nothing unnatural came up. I was actually surprised in my first battle. After about 20 seconds I accidentally moved the left joystick and my character moved. I had no idea it was set to free movement as default. It is really hard to tell since none of the other party members or enemies moved at all. I didn't care much for it so turned it off. I'm fairly sure the desert theme was an old song. The song is the desert town might be new... but not sure. Random unimportant NPCS look really great too and not low effort creations.
There is a camp scene in the desert with the other party members, and it looks fantastic. The camera compositions and the animation was wonderful. It was pretty much a cinematic cutscene with in-engine graphics. Was awesome~~~
But yeah, not much story which is what I wanted. PS4 version was great. Didn't get to test the 3DS version as I was not waiting another two-and-a-half hours to try it. I was number 364, arrived thirty minutes after the event opened at 10am and got to play just before 1pm.
