Officially released on Wednesday, ÔÇÿAssassinÔÇÖs Creed IIIÔÇÖ becomes UbisoftÔÇÖs biggest ever launch title, selling almost double that of ÔÇÿAssassinÔÇÖs Creed IIÔÇÖ and outperforming the publisherÔÇÖs previous best, last yearÔÇÖs ÔÇÿAssassinÔÇÖs Creed: RevelationsÔÇÖ by over 117,000 units.

Launched initially on Xbox 360 and PS3 alongside a separate PS Vita title called ÔÇÿAssassinÔÇÖs Creed: LiberationÔÇÖ and with a PC version to follow, it easily becomes the second biggest launch of the year so far (behind FIFA 13). The Xbox 360 version accounted for 59% of sales with 41% on PS3. ÔÇÿFIFA 13ÔÇÖ remains at No2 enjoying only a 2% drop in sales. Last weekÔÇÖs No1 ÔÇÿMedal of Honor: WarfighterÔÇÖ (-46%) falls to No6, making way for 3 big new titles ÔÇô ÔÇÿWWE ÔÇÖ13ÔÇÖ at No3, ÔÇÿFootball Manager 2013ÔÇÖ at No4 and ÔÇÿNeed for Speed Most WantedÔÇÖ at No5.

Out of these only Need for Speed improves on last yearÔÇÖs title, selling 17,000 more than ÔÇÿNeed for Speed: The RunÔÇÖ sold at launch last year. ÔÇÿForza HorizonÔÇÖ (-50%) drops to No7, but stays ahead of ÔÇÿSkylanders GiantsÔÇÖ (-16%) which moves to No8. EA now have three titles in the Top 10, followed by Ubisoft with two thanks to a solid performance this week from ÔÇÿJust Dance 4ÔÇÖ (+0%) at No9. Despite the four big Top 10 new releases BethesdaÔÇÖs ÔÇÿDishonoredÔÇÖ (-36%) manages to stay in the Top 10, down from No5 to No10. ÔÇÿAssassinÔÇÖs Creed III LiberationÔÇÖ on PS Vita debuts outside the Top 10 at No14 making it the 3rd biggest debut for a PS Vita title (behind hardware launch titles Uncharted: Golden Abyss and FIFA Football).
