Cita:Square Enix hopped aboard the Ouya bandwagon today with the announcement that it will release Final Fantasy III for the platform. The game will be offered simultaneous with the Ouya console in March 2013.

Ouya is a new Android-based platform that began funding through a Kickstarter funding campaign. Since funding began earlier this month, the device has received investment of over six million dollars from over 45,000 people.

Regarding the Ouya version of FFIII, Square Enix said that it will be optimizing the game for the platform and will also offer a free demo simultaneously. It also said that it's looking into offering download content for the platform.
