Cita:Sony was heavily rumored to be preparing a bespoke cloud gaming channel on its PlayStation 3 console, and that an acquisition of Gaikai or OnLive is vital in providing this service - a rumour on which all involved have declined to comment.
But when quizzed on the topic of cloud technology, Rohde told GamesIndustry that it's "absolutely inevitable that it's going to be a part of what everyone does."

He went on, "It just makes sense. And so, over the next five years, you're going to see everything evolve to that state because people want access to their data anywhere."

The that timeframe would, you'd assume, fit well within the expected release of Sony's next console. But Rohe wouldn't be pushed into confirming anything.

"Will there be a streaming service? Will there be a partnership? I'm not going to answer those questions right now. But, like I've said ten times, like a broken record, the industry is always evolving," he concluded.

En los próximos cinco años, vas a ver todo girar en torno al juego en la nube, porque la gente quiere acceder a sus datos en cualquier sitio y momento.

Habrá un servicio de streaming? Habrá un acuerdo? No voy a responder estas cuestiones. Pero, como he dicho miles de veces, la industria esta siempre en constante evolución.

Mal pa mi que soy de formato físico, pero que muy mal. En esta generación creo que no llegan a cinco los juegos que tengo en formato digital.

El juego en la nube es más interesante para los fabricantes de televisores, Apple, Google y demás compañías que para las "first". Las "first" quieren vender consolas para vender juegos. Las otras compañías quieren simplemente vender los juegos sin vender las consolas. Así que seguramente el juego en la nube se vea antes en otros aparatos que en las consolas. Porque además esas compañías no necesitan vender varios juegos al año, ya que cada venta de juego será un ingreso extra.
