Los que han probado la beta distribuida en el Plus de Hong Kong sólo tienen comentarios positivos.

La jugabilidad es totalmente distinta a la de Smash Bros, bastante más rápida y frenética debido al límite de tiempo y con una mayor variedad de movimientos, posibilidad de combos y enfoque en la nivelación de personajes.

Compararlo con el Smash Bros sin una característica es algo así como decir que Mortal Kombat es lo mismo que Street Fighter II con el añadido de los fatalities.┬á
