MCVÔÇÿs claiming that Sony will announce a brand new eBook strategy called ÔÇ£StorytellerÔÇØ for PS3 ÔÇô and maybe Vita ÔÇô at E3 next week.

Cita:A PS3 ebook strategy will be unveiled by Sony at E3, MCV understands.

It will be called ÔÇÿStorytellerÔÇÖ and will see PS3 ÔÇô and possibly Vita ÔÇô used to present interactive documents and books, with a particular focus on childrenÔÇÖs content.

This content will form another sub-section of SonyÔÇÖs PlayStation Network Store ÔÇô the rejuvenation of which is expected to constitute a large part of the companyÔÇÖs E3 offering.

Speculation has also linked Nintendo to the ebook sector, with both its portable 3DS and upcoming home console the Wii U seen as viable platforms.

Sony will have to take on major players like AmazonÔÇÖs Kindle and AppleÔÇÖs iPad, however, if it wishes to claim meaningful slice of the market. ItÔÇÖs a sector the company has dabbled in before with its now closed PSP comics offering.

When contacted by MCV, Sony said that it does not comment on rumour or speculation.

Según informa la web MCV, Sony presentará en el próximo E3 un sistema de libros electrónicos, o eBooks, llamado Storyteller. Al parecer, este servicio estaría disponible para PlayStation 3 y PlayStation Vita, y su contenido estaría enfocado principal, que no únicamente, a contenido para niños.

Éste será otro aspecto de la renovación de PlayStation Network que adelantábamos hace algunas horas con PlayStation +, y que según señala MCV, será uno de los puntos fuertes a los que Sony recurrirá en su conferencia en el próximo E3.

Hay que recordar que Sony ya puso en marcha un sistema de descarga de cómics digitales para PlayStation Portable, así que no sería una idea tan descabellada ni la primera vez que se acerca de una manera u otra a este área de la distribución digital.
