Cita:Half-life 2: Episode 4 or Return to Ravenholm was a title developed by Arkane studios and eventually cancelled. Little of the game beyond concept art and an animation reel demo has been seen before now. All images are verified as work from Episode 4.

We've uncovered a couple images which show some in-game shots of the title which show new textures and models Arkane planned for the game. You may notice a HUD element saying 'Absorption' in the images, if you have any suggestions what that might be, we'd like to hear them!

Joputas, primera vez que hablan de half life en años y lo hacen para enseñar cosas canceladas, con estos temas no se juega

Pero esto....esto que es? se ha llegado a saber algo mas de este juego o esta es la primera noticia? porque episodio 4 y no 3?

De todas las veces que he leido sobre juegos cancelados, este es el que mas me ha dolido, half life saga me encanta y arkane tiene algunos juegos bien interesante. Aunque la ambientacion no me recuerda mucho a la de Ravenholm.

De HL, si mal no recuerdo hay:

-HL2
-HL 2 Episode One
-HL Episode Two

No sé si Episode 4 se le dice por ser el 4º juego, aunque como dice Aps, debería ser Episode 3, supongo.

A lo mejor en ese momento estaban desarrollando el ep 3 en secreto y por eso este seria el cuarto....

Muchos episodios iban a ser, ¿no?

Cita:Inside Valve, two teams will be responsible for finishing Episode 1-3, a triumvirate that Newell says will wrap up Half-Life 2s current story arc. Episodes 1 and 2 began development simultaneously by separate teams; when Episode 1 goes live, its team will shift gears to Episode 3. Episode 4 will have a stand-alone plot and is being developed outside of Valve.

Entrevista con Marc Laidlaw (escritor jefe de Half Life) por qué el juego fue cancelado:

Cita:Valve felt that gamers had seen enough of Ravenholm in Half-Life 2. "As I recall, we felt like a lot of the staples of Ravenholmheadcrabs and zombies!were pretty much played out, and the fact that it would have to take place sometime before the end of Episode 2 (so as not to advance beyond where Valve had pushed the story) was a creative constraint that would hamper the projectand Arkane," Laidlaw explained.

As for the possibility hinted by Gabe Newell back in 2006 of a Half-Life episode beyond the now legendary Episode 3?

"IÔÇÖm pretty sure that Gabe was referring to Ravenholm. Makes no sense why there would be [an Episode 4]," Laidlaw confirmed.

Lo cancelaron porque no tenía sentido volver a Ravenholm y encima tampoco avanzava en la historia.

Bueno, el EP4 es el cancelado, no el 3 xD.
