All current owners get to keep the game, but the title will no longer be available for purchase through the PlayStation Network, Steam, Humble Store and other authorized digital distributors and Steam key vendors.
Following the end of our distribution agreement of Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition, Gearbox Software will take over publishing rights of the title.ÔÇØ

Duke NukemÔÇÖs been having a bit of a tough time in the 21st century.┬áDuke Nukem Forever┬áwas delayed until it released as an absolute mess,┬áDukeÔÇÿs spiritual successor in the form of a top down shooter turned┬áout to be less than stellar, and now even the KingÔÇÖs last good game,┬áDuke Nukem 3D, is off the digital marketplace. On December 31st, the rights of the┬áDuke Nukem┬áseries┬áofficially shifted hands┬áfrom 3D Realms to Gearbox, which lead to the franchiseÔÇÖs┬ádigital games disappearing, from┬áDuke Nukem II┬áto┬áBalls of Steel. However, one title still survived into the year,┬áand that was┬áDuke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition.

For the unaware,┬áDuke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition┬áis (was) a compilation of┬áDuke Nukem 3D┬áas well as its fourth episode from┬áAtomic Edition, as well as the expansion campaigns┬áDuke It Out in D.C., Duke┬áCaribbean: LifeÔÇÖs a Beach, and┬áDuke: Nuclear Winter┬ápublished by Devolver Digital. It also included workshop support, and overall a more modern coat of paint to make it look great, even on modern systems. Sadly, roughly 6 hours ago, the game was completely┬ápulled from Steam┬áin a rather puzzling move. Back in 2015, Devolver had┬átweeted┬áthat it would be staying on both Steam and PSN. Curiously, it still seems to be intact on the┬áPlaystation Store, but yet it cannot actually be purchased.

Cada vez deseo menos que Gearbox se haya quedado con los derechos de Duke Nukem. Se los tenía que haber quedado 3DRealms/Interceptor. Que asco me está dando la compañía con estos movimientos, en serio. Era la mejor edición del juego que había salido y la única manera legal de pillar todas las expansiones.

Qué pena que no lo vayan a devolver a las tiendas.
Y la versión de Vita no estaba en fisico, ¿verdad?

Recuerdo que lo pillé en un bundle junto con Shadow Warrior Classic Redux.

Me gusta cuando las compañias no quieren ganar dinero, y retiran juegos a la venta, ademas juegos que no requieren mantenimiento y lo unico que hacen es dar dinero de vez en cuando.

Tontos no, lo siguiente.

Este movimiento me parece absurdisimo. Por que quitar un juego que siempre terminará generando beneficios al ser la mejor versión de uno de los mejores clásicos de la historia de los FPS? Vamos, todavía habrá mucha gente que no lo tiene y en algún momento lo compraría con lo que sería dinero fácil solo por estar ahí. Muy lamentable que pasen estas cosas.
