Electronic Arts' EA Access will soon be available for Windows PC games as Origin Access, a subscription for EA's Origin digital distribution platform, the company announced today.
Origin Access will cost $4.99 per month, the same as EA Access, and will give subscribers the same kinds of benefits. Perks include pre-release trials of upcoming EA games and access to The Vault, an ever-growing collection of free full-game downloads. At launch, games offered in The Vault include Dragon Age: Inquisition, Battlefield 4 and Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare. Origin Access also offers a 10 percent discount on all Origin purchases.
EA launched EA Access on Xbox One back in August 2014; the service remains exclusive to that platform. The main difference between Origin Access and EA Access is that the company only offers month-by-month payments for Origin Access; customers don't have the option of paying $29.99 for an annual subscription ÔÇö half the price of the monthly payments added up over the course of a year ÔÇö like they do with EA Access. EA also notes that Origin Access is available only for Windows PC, not Mac games.
