Unas impresiones sobre Dragon Quest X que he encontrado en GAF:
While others have said it, I'm going to have to agree that I don't see it coming to the west.
I played the Japanese version on PC for a while, and I absolutely love the game. I only stopped because the language barrier was becoming a serious issue after a point. I also had hope at the time for it to come out here, but the more I think about it the more I worry.
The game is fairly old at this point, and Square Enix is (unrightfully imo) convinced that westerners don't care about Dragon Quest. While they're making moves in the right direction with the VII and VIII 3DS ports being localized, along with the Heroes games and Builders, they still aren't convinced enough to bring us the Monsters games that have come out on the 3DS- games that could possibly sell very well due to their Pokemon-esque (not really, but marketing) gameplay.
I truly hope that I am wrong, because I was love the chance to play the game in English. It is incredibly fun if you are a fan of the series, as the combat manages to mix traditional DQ systems with pseudo real-time action. The locations are really interesting and unique, the story seemed to be good from what translations I could get of quests, and there are some awesome mechanics in place that set it apart from other MMOs. For example, tanking is partially done by players literally "pushing" monsters around to direct them away from other players. There is even a system in place similar to one in Phantasy Star Online 2, in which one can hire other players' characters to fill out your party as NPCs.
Sorry for the wall of text, but I am really passionate about the Dragon Quest series and love X from what I have played of it. I don't like being really negative, but Square Enix hasn't exactly been good to western DQ fans until very recently and that concerns me. Maybe Nintendo will pick it up for the NX release and hype it up, and that would be awesome, but I'm not holding my breath at the same time.
