PS4 Project Phoenix JRPG reveal from major talent, including Final Fantasy, Diablo III and Starcraft II developers

PSU has the scoop that a new Japanese role-playing game featuring artists with experience working on the Final Fantasy series is likely to come to PlayStation 4 and PS Vita.

Project Phoenix will soon hit Kickstarter, where the team will be seeking $100,000 for the development of the new game on PC, Mac, Linux, iOS and Android. When you hear whoÔÇÖs involved in Project Phoenix, youÔÇÖll soon realize that this amount of funding could be a paltry sum.

Game director Hiroaki Yura will be surrounded by a development team who have worked on the likes of the Final Fantasy series, Halo 4, Crysis 3, LA Noire and Diablo III. This includes art direction by Kiyoshi Arai of FFXII and XIV game and Final Fantasy composer Nobuo Uematsu.

PSU reached out to the developer to ask whether Project Phoenix is planned for PS4 and Vita. HereÔÇÖs what they told us:

ÔÇ£We certainly do plan to have Project Phoenix available on PS4 and PS Vita, but are still in the midst of final talks.

Although we are 90% sure it will happen, we will not make an announcement yet until the contract has been signed.ÔÇØ

Project Phoenix is a huge adventure that mixes RPG and RTS components with a fast-paced combat system. The following information was revealed about the storyline:

Players will follow the story of the amnesiac angel, Ruffles, who has landed in the world of Azuregard and encounters the troubled Templar, Marcus Stern. Together with the elven princess Sylrianah, who is reserved but curious to see the world beyond the forest, and Zarum the Lost, a battlemage with his own internal conflicts , they form an unlikely bond. These four heroes must discover their place in a world brought to war by misunderstanding and ignorance, and perhaps ultimately even save it from itself.

Project Phoenix is a sprawling adventure where you will travel and battle enemies across Azuregard. The game departs from traditional RPG conventions through its use of RTS elements, yieldinga combat system that is fast-paced and dynamic. Furthermore, players can have their characters interact with environmental terrain featuers, be it rope bridges or boulders, to create tactical advantages.

PD: No me gusta nada la idea de que tenga elementos de RTS (con esto mi hype baja bastante).

Preferiría que sacarán elementos de los S-RPGs, estilo Fire Emblem.
