Video game analyst Michael Pachter has been critical of Nintendo and the Wii U in the past, to say the least. He followed todayÔÇÖs Wii U preview event and tweeted his thoughts during the show. And judging by those tweets, he sounds pretty optimistic. At one point, he says that the Wii U will ÔÇ£sell out through April at leastÔÇØ. He bases this on his expectation that Nintendo will manufacture 1 million Wii U consoles per month, which would mean Nintendo would ship 7 million consoles through March 2013, according to Pachter. And all of them will sell out, reportedly. He adds that he expects the 30% of the Wii U consoles to be allocated to the US, which would be 300,000 consoles per month.

The Wii U will ship in two flavors: a $299 ÔÇ£BaseÔÇØ version and a $349 ÔÇ£DeluxeÔÇØ version. Regarding the price, Pachter said that he ÔÇ£thinks Nintendo is pricing it rightÔÇØ and that Nintendo has ÔÇ£fervent fans who will buy at this priceÔÇØ. He also predicts that the Wii U will see a price cut in 2013.

On the games side, Pachter was equally impressed. He said that third party support for the Wii U was ÔÇ£pretty solidÔÇØ, and Nintendo titles looked ÔÇ£high qualityÔÇØ. He also believes that ActivisionÔÇÖs support of the Wii U with a lot of casual titles (sans Black Ops 2), signals that ÔÇ£they think the Wii U market is casualÔÇØ.

Es un fenómeno. Primero diciendo que la Wii U era la nueva Dreamcast y ahora dice que se agotará hasta abril por lo menos. Y que Nintendo venderá 7 millones de consolas hasta marzo de 2013 y el 30% en EEUU. También asegura que Nintendo ha acertado en el precio, pero que bajará el año que viene.

En cuanto a los juegos cree que el soporte third es sóldo y que los juegos de Nintendo parecen de alta calidad. Cree que Activision ve la consola como casual por sus juegos.

Pues en lo de Activision estoy de acuerdo con él. Ya no es el apoyo concreto a la consola sino que toda Activision es casual en los últimos años. Lo de las ventas lo dirá el tiempo.
