Cita:Our time with the title so far has revealed two key points; firstly, there's plenty of depth and content on offer that we've barely touched upon or are forbidden from doing so, which bodes well. The second is that the experience is raucously fun so far; there's an almost childish approach to the design in Bayonetta 2, where no scenario or boss encounter is too outrageous for inclusion. Daunting scale and grandeur quickly become the norm, and even if you struggle to keep up with the slightly baffling storyline and mythos ÔÇö you're a witch fighting angels, after all ÔÇö it barely seems relevant; pretty cutscenes simply lead to more crazy combat, enormous face offs, entertaining and brief button mashing QTEs (quick-time events), gravity defying or opportunities to run around as a panther. It's tightly woven craziness.

Cita:Bayonetta 2's pretty much everything you could expect from a sequel. I've played through a significant amount of the whole thing, but am only allowed to tell you about the opening third. Know this, though: the combat crackles as satisfyingly as before, the jokes fall flat just as often and the narrative that drives the whole thing, well frankly I haven't a clue what's going on. The energy, though, is remarkable.
Cita:Bayonetta 2's variety and pacing make it all seem as inventive as last time out, and a little more relentless too.
Cita:The combat challenges that were hidden throughout the original Bayonetta are now placed on your path of progression. They remain optional, but players are now more readily funnelled towards them, and towards the intricacies of Platinum's exquisite fighting.
Cita:In Bayonetta 2's fireworks, in between the wisecracks, snapping swords and angry hair-dos there are a hundred reasons to believe this will be a sequel to savour, and that Platinum's made another game it's oh-so-easy to fall in love with again.

Cita:Regardless of that vocal disappointment, the Japanese developer have cracked on with precisely what they do best ÔÇô crafting intense, high-octane action experiences that they are entirely unrivalled in creating across the industry. With Bayonetta 2 nearing its October release I have found myself lucky enough to play through the opening five chapters, and the sequel is promising to be every bit as frenetically exhilarating as its predecessor.
Cita:Bayonetta 2 is a notably improved successor, blisteringly sublime at 60 frames-per-second and with a more vibrant colour palette that makes even the most frantic of combat scenarios all the more mesmerising. Continual set piece moments are an overwhelmingly welcome assault on the senses, and it is clear that PlatinumGames have poured as much unrivalled joy in creating the sequel as the player themselves will experience by witnessing it all in action.

Cita:Something about Bayonetta just makes her special. She has all the characteristics of a virtual Lady Gaga for the action genre. A svelte physique, a reckless and uncompromising fashion-sense, a take-no-prisoners attitude, that trendy hairdo, and some radical fighting abilities set her apart from so many other characters.
Cita:Bayonetta 2 is a combat ballet laced with gold armor and red blood gushing everywhere. More importantly, itÔÇÖs a sequel to one of the greatest action games ever made.

Cita:Wow just wow. Its possible that in the four and half years since the original games release youve forgotten the pure insanity that Bayonetta brought with it. Its safe to say that within moments of its sequel starting youll remember.

Cita:As for the game itself? Well, itÔÇÖs Bayonetta to the core, and going by the areas of the game IÔÇÖm currently allowed to talk about, it contains everything you would expect from Platinum Games: Action, Silky-smooth framerates, campiness, unique characters and enemy designs, and uncomfortably overt sexual themes.
The Independent
Cita:The arrival of fellow Umbra Witch Jeanne on a motorbike coincides with a holiday parade that includes a flyover from the Platinum Stars, daredevil stunt planes that soon serve as a platform for the action when the Third Sphere Angels turn up looking for a fight. Fighting starts immediately, with no tedious tutorials to sleepwalk through, and a well-rounded selection of difficulty modes allows those unfamiliar with the hectic battling to compete without frustration.
