Anunciado nuevo juego de Yo-kai Watch: Yo-kai Gakuen - zothenr - 27-12-2019

Today, the latest Yo-kai Watch anime series debuted in Japan. It’s called Yo-kai Watch Jam: Yo-kai Gakuen Y – N to no Souguu, and it’s based on the latest Yo-kai Watch movie released earlier this month in Japan. And it turns out that Level-5 is working on a new game based on this anime series, only known as Yo-kai Gakuen for now.

This game was announced completely out the blue today, by Akihiro Hino (CEO of Level-5) on Twitter. He also shared the very first screenshot for it, which doesn’t show much: just the school and some characters (including the protagonists).

Here’s the screenshot:

Akihiro Hino explains that Yo-kai Gakuen will have different gameplay compared to previous Yo-kai Watch titles. Unfortunately, that’s pretty much all we know for now, as we don’t even know on which platform(s) the game will be released. Nintendo Switch and/or mobile are the most likely candidates, but nothing is confirmed.

And of course, no word on when this game will be released, though a 2020 release is quite likely (barring any unforeseen delays, like Yo-kai Watch 4 which was initially slated for a Fall 2018 release). We will have to wait until next year to get a proper announcement, most likely via an upcoming issue of CoroCoro magazine.
