Las desarrolladoras sólamente deben mandar una de las versiones del juego para estar aprobadas en todas las regiones

The region-free nature of Switch not only has benefits for gamers, but developers as well. SteamWorld Dig 2 maker Image & Form revealed in a Reddit AMA yesterday that the team is only required “to submit one version of the game for the entire world”. That appears to be a major improvement from Wii U and 3DS, which requires extensive work to cover various regions.

Image & Form community manager Julius Guldbog wrote:

Cita:“Now that Nintendo has embraced region-free publishing we save lots of time since we only need to submit one version of the game for the entire world (instead of multiple versions to cover all regions). It saves us months of paperwork!”

Switch truly is region free in every way possible. Cartridges can be played on the system no matter the country they originated from. On top of that, system owners can access the eShop for any region so long as they’ve made a Nintendo Account that corresponds to it.

Zoink Games: "Tardamos 3 días en hacer una versión funcional de Viking King en Switch. En WiiU sólamente había problemas"

Community manager Alexandra at Zoink Games explained that it took only three days to get Viking King to run on Nintendo Switch. This is compared to them running into issues whilst trying to develop the same title for the Wii U. Alexandra points out that frame rate issues were to blame.

It’s also worth noting that Viking King will be released on the Nintendo Switch sometime soon but a solid date is yet to be confirmed. Flipping Death is also slated for a release on the Switch but again we’re waiting on news from the developer for a less-vague launch window.

Inti Creates (Blaster Master Zero) trabaja en 2 nuevos proyectos

It looks like Inti Creates has been working on more than Blaster Master Zero. The NES sequel released on 3DS and Switch recently, but the developer has let slip that they are planning on announcing two more games during 2017. While one will be ready to announce in the Summer, the other won’t surface until the end of the year.

Azario Lopez: With Blaster Master Zero now available on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo 3DS, what’s next from Inti Creates?

Takuya Aizu: We have two big projects coming up: the first we’re aiming to announce early Summer – the second will be closer to the end of the year.

Anew: The Distant Light quiere llegar a Switch

Anew: The Distant Light was successfully funded on Kickstarter last week having raised over $35,000. Before the campaign ended, developer Resonator added in a Switch stretch goal, which was met just before the campaign ended.

As for what the stretch goal entails, Resonator says:

Cita:“This is a commitment to full due diligence in planning for development of a Switch port. Their indie program currently appears to be very limited and they are not accepting many games. We anticipate that it will open for more developers at some point, but we will aggressively pursue it regardless. We will acquire dev kits, attempt to establish a developer relationship for the platform like we already have for PlayStation and Xbox, and we will analyze the hardware for technical constraints that we need to optimize around. Doing this early makes a Switch port much more likely and faster to arrive.”

Anew: The Distant Light is a single-player open-world action game taking inspiration from Metroid, Cave Story, and Dark Souls. It’ll be packed with battles, puzzles, and exploration.

Anew: The Distant Light is tentatively planned for July 2018. We’ve included a trailer below.
