Interested parties need to fill out a playtester survey, according to community developer Burton Johnsey, who announced the move on the Steam forum. He also intimated that international playtesters would be considered in the future.

ÔÇ£WeÔÇÖre looking for folks to come to Valve and playtest both released and unreleased versions of our games as well as play around with some of our hardware prototypes,ÔÇØ the post reads.

ÔÇ£If you have interest in stopping by (most sessions last around an hour), please fill out the survey below. WeÔÇÖre looking for people local to the Seattle/Bellevue area, but youÔÇÖre welcome to fill out the survey no matter where you live as we may have plans for remote playtests in the future.ÔÇØ

Payment, it would seem, is simply the chance to see ValveÔÇÖs work early. There are also no details yet on exactly what successful applicants will be testing, though speculation and reports have pointed to a number of avenues, including wearable computers, controllers and even a Steam-based console.
