Luego revisaré mejor los datos, así a bote pronto lo primero que me ha llamado la atención son las ventas tan saludables de los juegos de Namco-Bandai. Tercera posición en compañías con un total de casi 5 millones de juegos y eso que el que más ha vendido suyo no se acerca ni al medio millón. Muy buenas ventas de una gran cantidad de juegos medianos.

Luego ves a Level 5 que más del 95% de sus ventas se deben a una única saga: Youkai Watch.

El problema no son el número de million sellers, que siguen habiendo muchos, sino que los juegos medianos están desapareciendo.

Desde luego 8 million sellers son muchos, aunque para mí ese dato tendría que ser poco menos que anecdótico. Es un poco como contar las personas en el mundo que tienen un patrimonio mayor de mil millones de euros. En los últimos 10 años ha aumentado mucho ese número, pero eso no significa que la economía global haya ido a mejor (más bien al contrario).

Todos esos million sellers son de 3DS, otro síntoma de poca salud para el mercado japonés. Es decir, dentro de 2 ó 3 años cuando 3DS desaparezca se plantea un relevo muy complicado en este sentido, pues ya no habrá máquinas con una base instalada suficientemente grande para albergar títulos que puedan amasar tantas copias. Los FinalFantasy/Dragon Quest numerados, algún Pokemon de Nintendo (aunque NX estará en pañales dentro de 2 ó 3 años), algún Monster Hunter o Yo-Kai Watch y poquísimo más.

También otra cosa que me gustaría que hiciesen es actualizar esas listas de millions sellers de vez en cuando. Sólo cogen lo que se ha vendido ese año y ya está. Hay juegos con muchas piernas que pueden vender 700.000 copias al año de media y acumular qué sé yo, 3 millones, y luego no aparecer nunca en estas listas (y ese sería un million seller muy gordo). Además que da una clara desventaja a los juegos que salen más a finales de año, ya que tienen mucho menos tiempo para superar esa cifra simbólica. Mario Kart 8 por ejemplo tendría que considerarse un million seller del 2014 (porque salió ese año y no otro) aunque no llegase a esa cifra ese año.

Mario Kart 8 ya es un million seller, pero no un million seller de 2014. Si es una diferencia estúpida pero es un matiz que existe ya que los tops son anuales.
Claro que estas listas se actualizan, o es que acaso no ves que estamos todos (y yo el primero) en Neogaf traduciendo todo el Top 1000 para tener todos los datos actualizados?

Por cierto, por una semana "potente" que viene y nadie parece motivado por la porra.

Yo estoy a favor de hacer porra esta semana.

Yo también quiero que haya porra, pero con el calor que hace no tengo muchas ganas de pensar los números. Yo diría que es mejor no incluir FFXIV, que encima ha tenido mal sellthrough, y quedarnos con las 6 opciones de mike, que ya son muchas.

Digo que Media Create las actualice, para saber por ejemplo cuantos million sellers salieron en 2007 que hayan alcanzado el millón aunque fuese después. Porque puede pasar que un juego salga en diciembre y venda 950.000 copias en un mes y luego vender 5 millones en total (con muchas piernas durante muchos años) y no aparecer en la lista de million sellers anuales. En cambio puede aparecer un juego en enero y vender 1 millón justo en 12 meses y terminar su vida comercial en 1,2 millones y este sí que saldrá en esas listas.

Se agradece el curro que os pegáis, que no tiene pinta de ser nada sencillo.
