During the Nintendo investors Q&A session, an investor felt too many major titles were released in the last three months of 2018. Hence the investor asked how easy it is to develop a Nintendo Switch game, what are the processes like, and what is Nintendo’s approach to game development.

Shinya Takahashi, general manager of Nintendo’s Entertainment and Planning Development Division, drew a comparison between developing for the Famicom and developing for Switch. In the span of a few decades, game development has become much more streamlined, development teams have grown larger, and developers could work from any location around the world.

Of course, the volume of games, project scope, and processes have all increased. Thanks to Nintendo’s experience and know-how in making games, they have learned to better tackle these issues. Thus, Takahashi says first party games are rarely delayed and launch on time, and he assures the investor that all Nintendo Switch games planned to launch in 2019, including unannounced titles, will launch as planned without delays.

Creative Fellow Shigeru Miyamoto also gave a few cents on game development. Miyamoto is in the process of guiding the younger generation of developers at Nintendo, in order to support them in making games unique to Nintendo. He says it’s important to nurture developers in making games with a fun and “core concept”, and that’s what Nintendo is doing now. These developers repeatedly refine their game concepts and ideas to ensure they are fun for everyone, and Miyamoto is there to oversee their progress.

Miyamoto felt the development of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, a game that involved many companies and developer, was smooth from start to finish.

Cita:The new open-world landscape is a fantastic-looking fantasy environment chock full of new gameplay, activities, rich storylines and space ninja adventure. Whether Tenno are dashing across the frozen tundra on the K-Drive Hoverboard to explore mountains, mushroom forests, or caves, conserving rare local animals from extinction, fighting battles against spider-like Raknoids, or facing off with the greedy Corpus faction, Fortuna is available tomorrow for free on Nintendo Switch.

In Fortuna, Nintendo Switch players will meet the new Faction Solaris United to kick off this enormous expansion. Whether in the underground hub city of Fortuna or on the surface of the Orb Vallis, players can dive into Solaris United’s stories, learn about the plight of The Business, Eudico, Rude Zuud, the crafty Ventkids, and others, and help them rebel against their brutal oppressors. With the new K-Drive Hoverboard, players can blast across the wide open Venusian landscape to pull off grabs, spins, rails and explore the massive, stunning Landscape.

The Corpus occupiers, led by the profit-obsessed Nef Anyo, bring new weapons, systems, and facilities to bear, including a bustling spaceport, a secretive research facility, and a massive shrine to Nef Anyo. Tenno should keep an eye out for mechanical, spider-like machines known as Raknoids. These Corpus-designed creatures range in size and lethality, from tiny Mites to the massive, invulnerable Orbs that loom over the region. The new Alert System will keep all players on their toes with Raknoids and Corpus responding to activity.

The official Nintendo Germany Youtube channel has added multiple private videos to their Animal Crossing playlist today.

Although no one knows what are the videos’ contents, everyone speculates it to have something to do with the upcoming Animal Crossing game for Nintendo Switch due in 2019. Chances of this are high as official Nintendo Youtube channels have previously added or removed videos prior to the announcement of a new game. This has notably happened with Pokemon games.

Perhaps the late April 2019 release could be true after all, if an announcement is on the way.

Legacy is certainly a big departure from what I’ve done before. And more so than ever before, you need to think a little bit more agnostically about platforms. I would absolutely say that there is a really strong chance of it going onto Switch, but there are two gates that can stop that happening. The first is you have to get permission from Nintendo, that’s one gate. And the other gate is, are we, as a company, passionate about putting it on Switch? I would absolutely say yes to that, because Nintendo – of all three consoles – it appeals to the audience that I find most fascinating. Those are the people that perhaps haven’t been gaming for decades – although I love those people as well – they’re people who would love to play computer games but find them inaccessible, and I find that absolutely fascinating. So yes, absolutely.

Emily Rogers: Hasta 11 juegos first no anunciados llegarán en 2019

Emily Rogers, one of the leakers of Pokemon Let’s GO Pikachu/Eevee, has revealed something interesting about Nintendo’s 2019 software lineup for Nintendo Switch.

According to Rogers, there are at least 5 first party Switch games launching in 2019, and up to 11 that could be arrive in 2019. Out of the 11, 8 are “most likely” (70% chance or higher) to hit in 2019, while 3 are “maybe” (50% chance or less) to arrive in 2019.

Out of the 11 games, one is a Nintendo Labo kit, one is Metroid Prime Trilogy, one is a secret title by Retro Studios, two are eShop exclusive titles, and two are mystery Wii U ports, one of which launched in 2013. The mystery Wii U 2013 port could most likely be either Pikmin 3 or Game & Wario.

Cita:The “Most likely” Nintendo-published game announcements for 2019. (70% chance or higher)

1. Mystery game #1
2. Mystery game #2
3. Mystery game #3
4. Mystery game #4
5. eShop game #1
6. Mystery Wii U port #1 (2013 title)
7. eShop game #2
8. New Labo Kit

The “Maybe” games for 2019. (The wild card titles – 50% chance or less)

9. Retro Studios secret game (this is assuming it wasn’t canned)
10. Metroid Prime Trilogy (assuming Zell’s info and Imran’s info are correct)
11. Mystery Wii U port #2

Rogers points out that some games could be pushed back to 2020 for marketing reasons, which wouldn’t be a surprise as Nintendo is known for sitting on releases to pad their software lineup. Keep in mind Daemon X Machima, Luigi’s Mansion 3, Animal Crossing, Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Yoshi’s Crafted World, and the Pokemon 2019 RPG all scheduled for 2019 at this time.

Apex Legends podría llegar a Switch (y móviles)

Recently, the developers of Titanfall did a surprise release of their latest Battle Royael and Overwatch inspired game Apex Legends which has been a very big hit!

However the game did not release on Nintendo Switch yesterday but was released on Xbox One, PS4 and PC and nothing about a Nintendo Switch version had been mentioned until now.

In an interview with Eurogamer it was said that:

Cita:Lead producer Drew McCoy told me that while Respawn would love to bring Apex Legends to mobile and Switch, there’s “nothing [they] can currently talk about”, so you’ll have to dock that handheld for now.

This is likely a hint that the game is currently being developed for Nintendo Switch and Mobile but they may not be able to talk about it just yet however we could see it later this year.

World of Final Fantasy, Blazblue, Guilty Gear, etc.
