[PC] Take-Two declara ilegales los mods para GTAV

Pues eso, han enviado una carta a la gente de Open IV en la que declaran ilegales los mods.

Ésto es lo que han dicho en sus foros:

On June 5th, 2017, we had received an official Cease-and-Desist letter.
It clearly says, that with OpenIV we "allow third parties to defeat security features of its software and modify that software in violation Take-Two's rights".
Yes, this letter is illiterate both technically and grammatically (really, they don't even bothered with proof-reading the text).
Yes, we can go to court and yet again prove that modding is fair use and our actions are legal.
Yes, we could. But we decided not to.

Going to court will take at least few months of our time and huge amount of efforts, and, at best, we'll get absolutely nothing.
Spending time just to restore status quo is really unproductive, and all the money in the world can't compensate the loss of time.

So, we decided to agree with their claims and we're stopping distribution of OpenIV.

It was a hard decision, but when any modding activity has been declared illegal, we can't see any possibilities to continue this process,
unless top management of Take-Two company makes an official statement about modding, which can be used in court.

El GTA V se fue a la mierda desde el momento en el que decidieron centrarse 100% en el Online. Ahora esto lo hunde todavía más en la mierda.

El otro dia vi en reddit un tema bastante gordo con el tema este del online, la verdad que me parecen unos cabrones con el tema ese, pero como tampoco creo que valla a afectar a las ventas de su proximo juego pues se lo pueden permitir

Rockstar Games insta a Take-Two a no demandar a los creadores de mods

La polémica abierta por Take-Two después de obligar a paralizar el desarrollo de conjunto de herramientas de modding OpenIV para GTA V parece que llega a su fin. La desarrolladora Rockstar Games anuncia en su página de soporte haber mantenido conversaciones con Take-Two para que esta no emprenda "acciones legales en contra de proyectos de terceros que involucren a juegos de Rockstar", siempre que solo afecten al modo individual.


Además de esta declaración, Rockstar Games ha confirmado haber iniciado conversaciones con Yuriy "Good-NDS" Krivoruchko, creador de OpenIV. Por el momento no hay novedades en este frente, pero en las últimas horas el conjunto de herramientas OpenIV ha recibido una actualización menor que podría indicar que su desarrollo sigue adelante.
