Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze desaparece de la eshop de WiiU
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze has been up on the Wii U eShop since it launched in 2014. However, with the new Switch version just on the horizon, it has now gone missing. Attempting to search for the game on the Wii U eShop won’t return you with any results for the actual game. Likewise, there isn’t an option for the digital on Nintendo’s own North American website. The digital release of Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze for Wii U does at least still appear to be showing up at retailers still. Amazon US currently has codes in stock. There’s been a lot of talk regarding the price of the upcoming Switch version ever since Nintendo announced it earlier this year. On Switch, it will cost full price at $60. However, the Wii U version had been dropped to $20 when it joined the Nintendo Selects line in 2016. Some have argued that Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze costs too much on Switch since very little has changed and Funky Kong is the main addition. It’s unclear if Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze has been removed from the Wii U eShop, or if Nintendo has only made the move temporarily. Fuente

Famitsu ya no contabilizará las ventas de hardware de WiiU
Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu will no longer track the sales of the Wii U in Japan, finally allowing the console to serenely drift off into the loving embrace of Nintendo's past systems. It comes as no surprise (the console was often generating weekly sales of between 10 and 20 units in recent weeks) but Famitsu was the last major player in Japan still reporting on the figures. The other largest sales figure tracker, Media Create, stopped reporting on Wii U figures last year, so it's unlikely that we'll see much in the way of Wii U statistics going forward. As it stands, the Wii U has reportedly sold 3,303,541 units in Japan (for comparison's sake, the Switch has already sold over 5 million in the country despite only being on the market for 19 months). While sales will continue to trickle in over the following months, this will likely be the most accurate figure we'll have for a while until Nintendo releases official sales reports in the future.
